Kicking Goals for Global Health

Sunday 29th August 2010 – 4.40pm
Melbourne Cricket Ground: Melbourne vs. North Melbourne

For the first time ever, Australia will host a major United Nations conference focusing on global health and it will take place here in Melbourne from 30 August until 1 September.

In support of this event, the AFL, the Melbourne Football Club and World Vision have teamed up to raise awareness about the urgent need to improve the health of children living in poor communities around the world.

On August 29th, the match between Melbourne and North Melbourne has been dedicated to Making Health Global.

In a global partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), World Vision is working to eradicate child malnutrition by delivering life-saving food aid to hungry families through our Multiplying Gift Appeal. The WFP provides the food and World Vision distributes it, but we need to raise funds to do this.

Gifts on the day will be multiplied up to 10 times to help us reach more than 600,000 people this year who are facing extreme food shortages.
